HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Jaylen Shaw is staying in-state to play his college basketball.

The Hartsville guard said he intends to play at South Carolina. Shaw can’t officially sign until the first day of the late signing period April 17. <snip>

Shaw averaged 23.1 points, 8.9 assists and three steals this season for Hartsville and helped the Red Foxes to back-to-back Class 3A state titles. <snip>

Shaw also had a pair of strong performances in the all-star games the last two weekends and was able to play with future teammates B.J. Mckie and Sindarius Thornwell. He earned MVP honors for the S.C. squad when he scored 23 points in the Carolinas Classic on March 23.

Shaw had 36 points and earned co-MVP honors in last week’s State vs. Columbia All-Star game.
