Big Week in Region 4 AAAA

Post by TIM »

Midland Valley varsity (4-1) has a 3 game series with Airport (6-1) this week, to open region play. Airport is already 3-0 in region play after sweeping Aiken High last week by a combined 31-1 over the 3 game series. MV at Airport 7pm Monday, Airport at MV 7pm Wednesday, MV at Airport 7pm Friday.

The Mustangs are really young with only 1 senior and 1 junior on the varsity roster. They've been fighting thru the growing pains, as they were young the last two seasons as well, but now that experience is starting to pay off. The program will be very competitive in the coming years.

The JV Mustangs head to Brookland Cayce for a double header tonight starting at 530pm, travel to Strom Thurmond Thursday night for a double header (5pm/7pm) then play at Batesburg Saturday 130pm.

MV C Team will be at Westwood (Blythewood) for a double header on Tuesday 3/12 (5pm/7pm) then travel to Batesburg Leesville Saturday for an 11am first pitch, which will be followed by some good Shealy's BBQ. C Team started regular season play last Friday with a 12-1 thumping of Barnwell.

In other Region IV matchups this week:
Aiken at North Augusta (M,W,F)
South Aiken at ARC (Th)

JV
Midland Valley beat Brookland Cayce 4-1 and 6-0 last night, moving to 2-0 on the reg season.

Midland Valley C Team rolls up to Westwood for a double header tonight. Most of the boys are excited as this is their first away trip. Getting early dismissal from school, some chik fil a food and the bus ride will be forthcoming this evening.
