C Team beat Barnwell 17-1, improving to 5-0 on the regular season. Zay Chavis pitched 2 innnings striking out 5, Lincoln Crane shut it down with an 8 pitch inning and 2k's. Preston Smith was 3-3 at the dish-with a single, dble and a triple. He hit the top of the fence in left center literally inches from an out of the park homer. C Team hosts Irmo Saturday at noon and look to continue the hot streak. They've outscored opponents 78-4 over the five game span.
Junior Varsity beat Barnwell 5-0, moving to 3-1 on the regular season. Caleb Viar pitched for the Mustangs and over powered the Warhorses. The boys were still not fully staffed as varsity pulled a few players up, but cruised to a win. They'll host the Aiken Hornets tonight 5pm with varsity playing 730pm in a blue out night.
Varsity picked up a huge region win Monday night, going into the nest and stinging the Hornets 5-2 in a thriller which ended with bases loaded in the bot of 7th. Freshman Turner Scott pitched 6.1 innings and freshman Nate Evans closed it down by getting the final two outs. Freshman Luke Busbee got the only hit for MV on the night. Mustangs are now 3-3 on regular season, 1-3 in region play and look to take the series with a win tonight as they host Aiken 730pm. It's a blue out, wear your blue to support the crew.
