MV C Team Swats Irmo Yellow Jackets in Dbl header

Midland Valley C team took the first game 8-1 and the 2nd game 17-6 against Irmo's B team last Saturday. They are now 9-0 on the regular season. Pitching and catching has been excellent thus far for the Young Ponies. Lefties Xander Stefanakos and Macon Williams, in addition to righties Spencer Nelson and Zay Chavis have been dealing, while catcher Lincoln Crane has gunned out at least 1 baserunner in each of the last 4 games and has been a wall behind the plate all season. Bats are coming alive and the team is batting above .400 for the season. They will get pushed this week as Gilbert is legit.

The C Team crew finishes the season at the Gilbert Spring Break Tournament this week by playing Gilbert's B Team Thursday, South Aiken's B Team Friday and White Knoll Saturday. Not sure if WK has a C, B, Freshman or SubVarsity squad but very few schools are fielding traditional C Team of 7th and 8th graders right now.

Junior Varsity tied Irmo 5-5 and they play the same schedule as C Team this week, just a few hours earlier each day.

MV varsity is rolling right now, took the series with South Aiken last week 2-1 and are sitting in 2nd place of region iv behind Airport. This week they are at the grandstrand to play at Loris and NMB high in a spring break tournament. They have their final region series with North Augusta in a few weeks and it will decide who gets 2nd place in the region (barring a meltdown by airport which isn't likely). Varisty has 1 senior and 1 junior on the roster. Mustangs will be a monster over the next few years.
