Bears baffled with extra-inning call
Christopher McKagen | The Weekly Observer (Hemingway) | SCNow.com

“There was a lot of congestion with my team on the field,” Fox said. “You gotta understand, it was like a playoff atmosphere. The place was packed.”

A fan in the crowd, who Fox said is an umpire with the Coastal Umpires Association, shouted for the Conway pitcher to throw the ball to first base. He did and the Carvers Bay batter was called out, the run voided and the game pushed into the second extra inning.

:? A couple of lessons here:
  • Players - Finish the play.
  • Coach - Know the rules and appeal the call immediately.
