Is Whitmire Community School High School a new name for Whitmire HS, and do they have a football team?

Link to the 1A map.

I ended up with 6 regions. 6-6-7-6-7-5 for football, 7-9-7-6-7-9 for other sports.

Why do the last two teams listed in 5A have a smaller enrollment than the first four teams listed in 4A
4A #1 North Augusta 1411
4A #2 May River 1407
5A #53 Myrtle Beach 1362
5A #54 Catawba Ridge 1319

Good question. I suspect they shifted them around to minimize travel.

Moving Myrtle Beach up to 5A created a 6 team region in Horry county. If they had remained in 4A all of their region opponents would have been 1 to 2 hours away.

Moving North Augusta down to 4A created a 5 team region in Aiken county. If they had remained 5A all of their region opponents would 1 to 1.5 hours away.

Moving May River down to 4A created a 6 team region in the Low Country. If they had remained in 5A all of their region opponents would be 1:45 to 2 hours away.

I have no idea why they skipped over 4 larger schools and pulled Catawba Ridge up to 5A. Moving them to 5A, to create a 7 team region, only leaves 3 schools with football from York to Lancaster in 4A. I had to pull in Camden, RNE and AC Flora to create a 7 school region with 6 football teams.

In Catawba Ridge..I would not be a bit surprised when school starts next year they have over 1400 students..might as well get used to it..I don’t know the Capacity,it looks sorta small from the road, but it’s a beautiful campus…riding through that area, they are pushing up huge housing developments as fast as they can around the CR,Nation Ford,Indian Land area…I read Clover is planning a new HS…Charlotte spilling over…

I love that Beaufort is moving back up to 4A. I also love their new 4A Region with Bishop England, Bluffton, Colleton County, Hilton Head, and May River. Beaufort has not played against Bishop England in many years. So My Eagles will have 5 Region Games, which leaves 5 games to schedule for Non-Region. I know that Battery Creek will probably be one of those games but I hope that the remaining 4 will be against some really good teams. I can't wait to see Beaufort's new football schedule!!!!

Those regions aren't official, just my best guess.

Yes, but that is how most of the media has that Region. But, I do know that it can change. I heard that Bishop England appealed. So we will see.
