Here's a map of the proposed 5A schools. I took a shot at dividing them into regions. I ended up with 8-7-7-7-7-6-6-6.
Hey, would you mind giving a shot at the 2a regions? Thank you very much.
Looking at the map, 2A has a chance of having A LOT of travel. Here's my thoughts...6 regions (6-7-7-7-6-6)

Region 1
Liberty
Chesnee
Blacksburg
Clinton
Abbeville
Ninety Six

Region 2
Chester
Buford
Chesterfield
Andrew Jackson
Fairfield Central
North Central

Region 3
Mid Carolina
Saluda
Strom Thurmond
Batesburg-Leesville
Eau Claire
Columbia
Pelion

Region 4
Mullins
Marion
Atlantic Collegiate
Lake City
Andrews
Kingstree
East Clarendon

Region 5
Timberland
Manning
Lake Marion
Woodland
Edisto
Barnwell

Region 6
Whale Branch
Hampton County
Burke
Palmetto Scholars
Academic Magnet
Philip Simmons
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

3A is going to be interesting. I count 8 schools that do not have football. I didn't take a stab at actual regions, but I've grouped them into geographic areas. It looks like there are 19 schools in the upstate, 15 with football. That leads me to believe Newberry will be in one of the upstate regions to even things out. I would go with 8-8-6-7-6 for football, 10-10-8-9-6 for other sports.

 Here's the 3A map.
I think American Leadership and Mountain View will have football. I still can't figure out how you take a stab at realignment when supposedly SC will be open enrollment across the state next year. If that happens some of the these schools numbers will drop and increase quite a bit.
Where is Mountain View located? I google search and couldn't find it.

Which schools out of the 38 3A schools won't play football?

Also, I noticed some schools on your 3A map that seem out of place.

Wade Hampton of Hampton merged with Estill to make 2A Hampton County High School, and I am quite sure that Ridgeland-Hardeeville is splitting into two 1A schools (Ridgeland Secondary High School and Hardeeville High School).
And Woodland is simply staying in 2A.
The ones I think do not have football are marked with a dot instead of a push-pin symbol. However, I was just informed that American Leadership and Mountain View may have football teams.

Thanks for pointing out Ridgeland-Hardeeville, I missed it when I was deleting schools from last year's map.

I have updated the name of Hampton County.

I don't know where Mountain View will be, so I just stuck it up the the mountains north of Greenville.

Gray Families,
I hope your winter break is going well. As I’m sure many of you have heard, the new SCHSL classifications were announced today and we were placed in 4A. I have advised all of our head coaches to review how this will affect every athletic program at Gray, and we will meet collectively in early January. There is an appeal process if we choose to go that route, along with submission of amendments to move our school to a different classification. All avenues will be explored and we look forward to reviewing how this will affect our student athletes. Nonetheless, we will continue to provide our athletes a safe, competitive and positive experience to explore athletics at Gray. I hope you all have a safe holiday and Happy New Year.

Link to the 2A map. Regions are my best guess.
