While I don't know....just a couple thoughts.

-Move up from 2A to 4A Ball, more prestige. Prove yourself on a higher level.

-Salary- The data that I have from 2016 shows that Kevin Crosby was making in the $68,000 range at Bamberg-Ehrhardt, while the Head Coach at Orangeburg-Wilkinson was making in the $78,000 range.

Crosby could be getting somewhere in the neighborhood of a $10,000 per year pay raise.

As far as the comparison to Riverside goes....
-Orangeburg has been more successful than Riverside in recent years, Riverside hasn't had a winning season since 2007.

I just remember back in the old 4A days that OW was a decent program that you met in the playoffs and they were pretty good
