WHO WOULD HAVE THUNK IT?

Just read that Fort Dorchester has been caught cheating with an illegal player. Having to forfeit at least one game. Glynn County, Georgia gets the win. Fort has to forfeit.

Press Release from Glynn County Schools Athletic Director Steve Waters:

Fort Dorchester High School from South Carolina has informed Glynn Academy and the Glynn County School System that they played an ineligible player(s) in their football game against Glynn Academy on August 17, 2018. The South Carolina High School Association has informed Fort Dorchester that they will have to forfeit every game the player(s) in question competed.

Thus, Fort Dorchester has agreed and notified Glynn Academy Head Football Coach Rocky Hidalgo and the Glynn County School System that they will forfeit their game with Glynn Academy. The game will be recorded as a 1-0 victory for Glynn Academy, which puts the Terrors at 3-1 officially on the year.

The Terrors will travel to Ware County tonight for a 7:30 kick off.

CHEATERS GET CAUGHT ALWAYS IN THE END

Goose Creek was banned for playing an ineligible player a few years back. But thankfully there is an appeal board now in place that can over rule the SCHSL.

And exactly how does that become fair to all of those teams (You mentioned Duck Ditch) who were forced to sit out the playoffs for a similar act? I am not advocating for any particular outcome, just asking about fairness to ALL teams, not just this one. I actually do believe, that although there have been many posts and opinions on this matter, that we all should wait until all of the pertinent details about this matter are made public prior to forming any opinions or making any judgments. This appears to be a very unfortunate incident that may have far reaching consequences.

Even if Fort Dorchester has to forfeit the Glynn Academy game.
It has no impact on their playoff seeding.

Playoffs are seeded now by Region games only. (At-large bid may be a slight exception)
So a forfeit would only matter in the case of a Region game.

Hopefully, Fort has corrected the issue.
Simply asking the question for record keeping reasons.

*The Goose Creek situation was due to an ineligible player being in most of their games and in their playoff game.
