Like last year .what einstein came up with predetermined home field Advantage. Dutch fork should not be traveling to the ville this year.team last year should have not had to travel to dutch fork .I'm sure its happened elsewhere aswell.if the highschool league was doing its job they would know they need to tweak the playoff system.
Why in hell do we keep electing or hiring the same fools that keep doing the same thing.its crazy maybe 2 coaches/ad from every region rotation of which two every year.could actually do a better job.the head of the schl change every 2 to 4 years no back to back term served.

The majority of school districts want no part of a point system that takes non-region strength of schedule into account. They have decided that gate proceeds and travel budgets are more important than competitiveness and fairness. They want no penalty for scheduling the cross-town 3A rival rather than a 5A school 2 hours away.

Additionally, for every school like Dutch Fork that gets hosed by the bracket there's another like West Florence that received a Thanksgiving gift.

That's the problem everyone gets a medal mentality.
No way stall should be in our region they should have dropped down or killed a non competitive football program.0 and forever.

After the first round. It should change depending on records. And for stall defense. They can compete in other sports not football. Last year. Despite pre determined sites, head to head should had played a role too. Heck barnwell had to go to timberland. Had the wolves won. Undefeated carvers bay would had to travel there

Apparently the schools have decided that having compact regions is more important than competitiveness.
It's not just football, travel time and budgets for all sports weighed heavily. 5A was expanded to 48 teams to fill-out regions that were too spread out. Berkely and Stall moved up, York and Colleton county moved down. (Union got moved down to 3A.)

Apparently dook for brains does not understand how the SCHSL Playoff brackets have been used for the last 30 plus years in EVERY class other than AAAA. The only change that has been made other than to create the 5th Class, is to incorporate the trusted, tried, and true, playoff structure to ALL Classes now. Geez, some people.

like academics fraud of uncheat.
Because something has been done for decades doesn't mean it's right. It's a crock .the best team doesn't get rewarded.its like the fat kid that gets a medal for participating. They didnt earn it.
The lower classifications should have been raising hell .Jerome should have been gone years ago.

All teams that won their region title are equal.

Who is to say Dorman's 9-1 record was better or worse than Hanna's 10-0 record

Last year I would say Fort D's 13-0 record was better than Dutch Forks 12-1 record especially when you consider the one loss for Dutch Fork was to Fort D in the regular season. Fort had to travel to play at Dutch Fork in the semis.
