Not saying AD didn't make the schedule, probably did. Fall 18/19 schedules were worked on summer/fall 17. Understand that at this point it wasnt 3 yrs ago, but at the end of each contract cycle it is almost 3 yrs. Do not disagree That NW non-region schedule isn't really tough and that could make season go south in a hurry either. However, made point that smaller regions have to fill more games and if you have traditionally been an above average and in NW a powerhouse, lower tier teams might not want to play those type teams.....they are looking for wins too. NC schools are on different contract cycle, not saying I would pick up DF if I lost SM though

In my opinion, a full blown coup took place ... AD making schedule without agreement of the coach, weight trainer (AD's husband) not lifting for bulk in off season, no help with monitoring grades (administrator in the school?), trainer (who was also trainer with the West's in Arkansas) holding players out, mom and dad prompted to complain (probably told what to write in complaints). Coordinated effort against Martin for some unknown reason. Control of the football program was taken completely away. Shameful behavior by these people against the coach, coaching staff, players, families, and Northwestern's reputation.

This is very accurate and also quite similar to what happened with Coach Pierce getting axed in the middle of the 2017 season. Same people trying to take control then were thwarted by the principal with the Martin promotion. Hopefully the current principal sees what truly needs to be done. Clean house and build fresh!!

Looking like almost an exact repeat....AD (West) wanted one coach, Principal (Blake) wanted another coach, selection committee wanted ???
Word is Ms West was not happy that she was not asked about hiring Martin.
Same thing could happen again this time...Massey wants (Davis, his college fraternity bro by the way), She wants ?????
The program will continue to lose ground while the adults fight. Someone will have to go.
Ridiculous and shameful behavior!!!

In the meantime a new school is opening with open enrollment and 3 HOF coaches whom every Dad who is from here and played football played for one of these guys. Huge question, who will want the job at this late date?

Jarvis Davis was Massey's hire.

Wonder who the AD wants to hire? (Rumor is Parks(?)) The conflict between who Blake wanted (Martin) and who West wanted (Parks(?)) is part of the cause of the issues against Coach Martin. Blake picked Martin with no input from West, West gets mad, Blake is removed, and West launches a coup against Martin in retaliation. Meanwhile control is usurped from the head coach and the entire program is run into the ground. This shameful behavior needs to be brought to light for the public to see.

If Parks was interested before, would he be now? Not sure if the salary difference between NW and Ridge View to turn his head. He seems to have it going pretty good at Ridge View and probably has opportunities and some other big jobs on the horizon. And let's face facts. Northwestern isn't the same attractive job that it was a few short years ago.
