I don't think the fact that Greenwood lost to Dorman is what is concerning, the score is what is concerning. Had Greenwood at least had a respectable showing it would be different, but they didn't.
I think you have a point. To add to that they should have scored more on our subs.

Dorman once again doesn’t seem like the old Cavs that would have a flat quarter. Who would be our real first test? Byrnes? What if Byrnes and Dorman are two underrated teams fighting not to be the worst of the two?
Well. They really just didn't play well. Too many mistakes. Especially fumbling the ball. Also need to find a passing game. It's going to take time. We have some tough kids, but it's been awhile since we've had someone who is a good passer. Every school we play does have one. We just aren't there. Will we get there again? I guess time will tell. Lol.

first off i am a Greenwood fan and a Chris Liner fan.despite
what some have said he had the 96 program on the right track.
if you guys remember i posted after the Abbeville Jamboree
that Greenwood looked small and not that much speed for
a 4a team.
i know it was a scrimmage but you can tell about a teams size
and speed.i wish they could have went against Saluda in
the Greenwood Jamboree.i really think that Saluda would have
beat them or give them a fit.the Eagles may not lose another
game and that would be great.i know they would be better
with Morton but one man can't do it in 4a. anyway good luck
the rest of the season and GO GET'EM EAGLES.

Careful being realistic about a down year at Greenwood.
People that have played them will take it as a slap at their scheduling!

That style of offense is only going to work at that level if you have the horses up front with depth. It will take a toll on linemen and rbs. If you got em then it’s a great offense, if you don’t and get behind it’s the worst.

They are no smaller than any team they've played really. Especially up front. The QB is small. They're better than Saluda. They've lost to number 3 in 4A Flora. Number 3 in GA 3A Sandy Creek. Number 5 in 5A Dorman. Yes there is stuff to fix. But saying they aren't better than Saluda is a reach.

How can you say Liner had 96 on the right track? He never had a team there that was a contender, at Laurens either. The best team Liner ever had at 96 got tossed from the playoffs giving up 50 points. You call that the right track? The black coach after him had much better teams than Liner did. He had the program on the right track and the guys at work from 96 tell me he left because the booster club started leaning on him to play certain kids. Do you think Owings has the program on the right track? I'll bet you won't answer that.

you need to get your facts straight.tell us the team
that scored 50 points on 96 in the playoffs.by the way
Doolittle came back to 96 after Liner.Liner left him a
senior team and they lost to Keenen in the upper state
championship.this is what i mean he left them on the
right track.when he left 96 had over 90 kids playing
football middle school thru varsity.Doolittle's 2nd year after
his return no middle school team and no jv's.the more kids
you get in the program the better.this year is the first time
96 has had a jv team in years.that is a good thing.the kids seem
to like playing for Owings.I have nothing against him like you seem to.
he was an outstanding player for 96.i think the entire coaching staff is
doing the best they can with the talent on the team right now.No speed.
you say you pull for Emerald so why hate 96 and Greenwood coaches.
there is nothing wrong with coach at Emerald.Atown did not give up
many points when he was their defensive cord. for years.wonder why
he can't do the same at Emerald at least not yet.did he all of a sudden
forget how to coach defense or could talent be the difference.
it ain't rocket science.

Just my opinion eagle93.i only watched them once
and that was in the Abbeville jamboree.so you know
more about them than i do.i know the Eagles will
bounce back.

96 lost to Emerald a bigger faster team still was a close game.
96 lost to Saluda a bigger and faster team.96 beat Ware shoals.96 is bigger
and faster.now i think 96 can play with any team in our region except Abbeville.
we will see.

I called one of the guys i work with, he said it was Chesterfield that put up 50 on 96. He said the program maybe got a little worse under Doolittle but it was a fluke that 96 got that far in the playoffs under Doolittle that 2-A was terrible that year. He also said that 96 has never had 90 kids playing in the middle school thru high school program, he said that 96 was declining when Liner left. So, you blame a total collapse on Doolittle? That is strange. Being an assistant coach or a player is much different than being a head coach. Some great assistants suck as a head coach, it ain't rocket science we see it constantly at all levels. The guys i work with want a new coach, they say 96 will never go anywhere under Owings. Their kids won't play for him.

My buddy from work is reading this, he just told me that having a JV team this year has nothing to do with Owings. The reason for the JV team is because the Neal guy they fired coached the middle school team last year and he put this group together because his grandson is a player in this group. True?
