Link to the 4A bracket  https://schsl.org/archives/8385

- All 4A regions now have 4 automatic berths.

- Regions 1-4 are still upper state, 5-7 are lower.

- There are now 4 at-large berths on the lower state side of the bracket. There's no mention if upper state teams will be considered for those berths, but it would make sense since there are 22 teams in regions 1-4 and only 18 in 5-7.

- They are no longer determining home/away by bracket, they have assigned a seed to each region's qualifiers. I would love to know how they determined those seeds.

Upper State seeding
1 Region 1 #1
2 Region 3 #1
3 Region 2 #1

After years of tweaking the split 4A playoff we just abandoned for this 5A bull was the best and most fair for the largest schools. I know points was a pain to keep up with at times but it made the playoffs fair for the bottom half of the division. With the current 5A class the state championship game will never have a team outside of the top 10 in enrollment. It’s just a fact. No I’m not an everybody gets a trophy guy but the proof is in the puddin. More students doesn’t mean good football but for the schools that put everything into it they are going to dominate.
The points system was what had this site grooving each season. That last Friday night of the regular season was a house party here because few fans and coaches understood fully how the playoffs would shake out until Jack and Ken posted their results.
