And the Brain-dead Trumpists don't care...

Was a Trump Server Communicating With Russia?

This spring, a group of computer scientists set out to determine whether hackers were interfering with the Trump campaign. They found something they weren’t expecting.

In late spring, this community of malware hunters placed itself in a high state of alarm. Word arrived that Russian hackers had infiltrated the servers of the Democratic National Committee, an attack persuasively detailed by the respected cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. The computer scientists posited a logical hypothesis, which they set out to rigorously test: If the Russians were worming their way into the DNC, they might very well be attacking other entities central to the presidential campaign, including Donald Trump’s many servers. “We wanted to help defend both campaigns, because we wanted to preserve the integrity of the election,” says one of the academics, who works at a university that asked him not to speak with reporters because of the sensitive nature of his work.

In late July, one of these scientists—who asked to be referred to as Tea Leaves, a pseudonym that would protect his relationship with the networks and banks that employ him to sift their data—found what looked like malware emanating from Russia. The destination domain had Trump in its name, which of course attracted Tea Leaves’ attention. But his discovery of the data was pure happenstance—a surprising needle in a large haystack of DNS lookups on his screen. “I have an outlier here that connects to Russia in a strange way,” he wrote in his notes. He couldn’t quite figure it out at first. But what he saw was a bank in Moscow that kept irregularly pinging a server registered to the Trump Organization on Fifth Avenue.

The researchers quickly dismissed their initial fear that the logs represented a malware attack. The communication wasn’t the work of bots. The irregular pattern of server lookups actually resembled the pattern of human conversation—conversations that began during office hours in New York and continued during office hours in Moscow. It dawned on the researchers that this wasn’t an attack, but a sustained relationship between a server registered to the Trump Organization and two servers registered to an entity called Alfa Bank.

Eighty-seven percent of the DNS lookups involved the two Alfa Bank servers. “It’s pretty clear that it’s not an open mail server,” Camp told me. “These organizations are communicating in a way designed to block other people out.”

What the scientists amassed wasn’t a smoking gun. It’s a suggestive body of evidence that doesn’t absolutely preclude alternative explanations. But this evidence arrives in the broader context of the campaign and everything else that has come to light: The efforts of Donald Trump’s former campaign manager to bring Ukraine into Vladimir Putin’s orbit; the other Trump adviser whose communications with senior Russian officials have worried intelligence officials; the Russian hacking of the DNC and John Podesta’s email.

Trump would only investigate Putin if Putin did something really suspicious, like being a Black President who was born in Hawaii ---

Spicer: 'Irresponsible’ to plan Russia response without final report

President-elect Donald Trump may be preparing to assume the presidency later this month, but one plan he isn’t making, according to his incoming press secretary, is what he will do if Russia was, in fact, behind the wave of cyberattacks that marred the 2016 election.

To make such a plan without a final, conclusive report, Sean Spicer said, would be “unbelievably irresponsible.” The incoming White House press secretary said he expects a more detailed intelligence report regarding Russia’s cyberattacks to be released in the coming days and that until that report is released, Trump will not even consider what response his administration might make.

Trump said over the weekend that he would clear up the hacking story this 'Tuesday or Wednesday.' Of course, all we heard were crickets.

What a liar -

Hey Kelleyanne, were you just as disappointed in the DC leaks, you soulless banshee?

Conway 'disappointed' in media leaks before intel briefing

A senior member of Donald Trump’s transition team expressed disappointment Friday that contents of the intelligence community’s report regarding Russia’s cyberattacks against American political targets were leaked to the media ahead of the president-elect’s scheduled briefing.

That report, delivered to President Barack Obama earlier this week, details the evidence implicating the Russian government in a series of cyberattacks that targeted high-profile political individuals and institutions, nearly all of them Democrats. Intelligence officials testified on the report Thursday before the Senate Armed Services Committee and are scheduled to brief Trump on it Friday.

But at least portions of the report were also revealed to The Washington Post, which published details including the celebration of Russian government officials when Trump was elected and that the U.S. government had discerned the identities of individuals who delivered hacked information to websites like WikiLeaks.

“President-elect Donald Trump has great respect [for] the intelligence community. We’re very happy that the top intelligence officials will be here at Trump Tower today to give their own briefing to the president-elect,” incoming counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway said Friday on “CBS This Morning.” “What's disappointing is having leaks in the media before we actually have a report on the alleged hacking and it's been very confounding to us and certainly to the president-elect why this report if it wasn't prepared until yesterday, why operatives were expelled, why punishment preceded actual conclusions.”

BAM!

Administration report blames Putin for attack on U.S. election, says Russia preferred Trump

The Obama administration on Friday officially blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for directing a massive cyber assault against the U.S. election in an attempt to "undermine" the democratic process and "harm" Hillary Clinton's presidential candidacy.

And as the campaign progressed, the administration said, Putin's hackers launched digital efforts to "help" President-elect Donald Trump win the White House.

"We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election," said the report, which is a declassified version of a longer, classified document the CIA, FBI and NSA prepared at President Barack Obama's request.

Contributing money to the opposition vs. hacking? You're equating those two? Really?

Why have the Trumpists now turned into commie loving Putin followers?

It is a wonder that no one has brought this up before. With all this concern of foreign governments interfering with domestic elections.......why hasn't anyone asked odummer why he was trotting around the world campaigning during his first run at the presidency........Germany comes to mind. It was packed. During the re-election he went back to the same place to campaign and they could hardly get anyone to show up.

Why campaign abroad if your so concerned about foreign governments messing with our elections.....heck, you are on their turf not in the USA. I think you are asking them to 'come on over' if you are over there.

Practice hypocrisy much.
