You called it CAT FAN.

They should rename this section SCPrepTalk Jail.

Starting to get a little like Facebook with the unsolicited manipulation of content that is non-controversial.

The funny thing now is any ad agents won't find your statement encouraging them to check out the corner because your statement is now in the corner.

This National, State epidemic of bad behavior at high school football games was learned from someone else?
You did not watch the video did you?

The guy voted most likely to drop a link isn't watching other links?

He's talking about the content of this video...

Yeah, I know DeCav dropped the link but this one won't hurt you. There are ZERO politics mentioned here. It shouldn't offend your ideologies. It talks about the Socratic approach and the need to let go of bad ideas and replace them with better ideas which mostly happens by interacting and contending with other people whose views differ from your own.

I mean, really...this can be stated from another perspective...

Does a person think every idea and belief they have is non-negotiable and the best they'll ever be? In this case, their position on the topic is basically either,

"I think I'm the most intelligent person in the world."

OR

"I'm as wise as I ever want to be and I'm done growing intellectually."

"I know I'm not making sense but this is just what I believe and I'm not going to change it."

Me? I know NOTHING and I'm always looking to replace faulty ideas with better ones and eventually good ones, and ultimately the best ones.

I'm literally a "change my mind" type of person and I know that what I believe today is not likely to be what I believe in the future. Fluid intelligence.

greenjewel is saying you don't learn anything in a vacuum. Our collective consciousnesses should be informing each other.

Seriously CAT, just watch the whole video and let me know if there's any part you disagree with. If you watched the video already, then I'm scratching my head at your query. Clearly, greenjewel's comment wasn't intended to purport necessarily that bad behavior is learned from other people, though I'm not sure how you dispute this. He's speaking on a more "meta" level. Interact with other people and let them move your needle if your daemon is responding to it.

Btw, ignore the conventional dictionary meaning of daemon. You'll read that it just means Demon or spirit which may be what the word has evolved to mean but not what the etymology of the word suggests the root meaning originally was.

Here's a deeper explanation...

https://exploringyourmind.com/your-daem ... carl-jung/

"According to Carl Jung, everyone has their own unique "daemon". Listening to it can make a big difference in your life. It's that inner voice that comes from your creative energy, asking you to make changes and take on new challenges. Unfortunately, you don't always listen."

Cat Fan, have you ever posted or said something and a voice inside your head said, "You don't believe that."

I mean we all do that. We've all felt that.

No joke brother man. Grit your teeth and white knuckle this video all the way through. Again, if there's a point you disagree with I'd like to discuss it.

Keep in mind I've been posting on the boards for 12 years. Never posted about God or Jesus until just this year.

Would have been a shame if my mind was shut off to that, no?

I've read two posted testimonials on PFT from older men who were avowed racists and disowned their daughters for dating a black man.

It wasn't until they held their new grandbaby that it walloped them how wrong they'd been for literally MOST of their existence.

They spoke about how painful this was and how the pain was proportional to the length of time they'd held these beliefs that now embarrassed them for having. They expressed the wish that they'd gotten wiser a lot sooner and that they probably missed out on a lot of good fellowship for holding onto these thoughts.

It was so devastating to the south after the Civil War that they grasped onto The Lost Cause belief which allowed them to romanticize the war as a war for state's rights so they could intellectually side-step the issue of racism and slavery in the south.

I'll never understand why anyone is convinced that what they believe today will be what they believe in the future.

If The Lost Cause sounds like some shit liberals made up that you can only find on mainstream search engines, then I encourage you to visit duckduckgo.com (I know you guys don't trust any other search engine) and type in The Lost Cause and read the results. From encyclopediavirginia.org...

"The Lost Cause is an interpretation of the American Civil War (1861–1865) that seeks to present the war, from the perspective of Confederates, in the best possible terms."

All of that because of inner daemons and the idea that my ancestors COULDN'T POSSIBLY have been wrong about the war which is a very peculiar stance because I've met few folks who defend the Civil War who will also defend the institution of slavery.

It strikes me as seriously high-wire mental acrobatics.

Anyway, where were we at? Bad behavior at football games?

I've yet to see any this season, save for the behavior of the rent-a-cop at the Spartanburg/Dutch Fork game who tried getting in my face and after trying to grab me because the ticket takers at the gate waved everyone forward when they opened the gates up and I stepped towards them with my ticket in hand. Apparently, I did not have her permission to move?

Whew! Decav, that's a lot to take in.

There's consequences for poor decisions, there's a lot of people making poor decisions.
Sooner or later the consequences of poor decisions catches up.

The Dorman community must be really blessed, the Mayberry of South Carolina. Andy kept the peace by just wearing a badge. No respect for a badge today.

As a Security Officer at the local hospital when I started in 2012 we were not required to carry a gun. That changed in a hurry, active shooters have become a norm across the country, sad to say. Everyday, I pray to God for the protection for the facility that we secure, for everyone to go home safe.

Bad behavior at high school football games, there's a reason why spectators have to go through a metal detector before entering the stadium. They don't want anyone making a very poor decision. There was a generation when that type of thing wasn't needed, the generation today have normalized them. Bad behavior starts in the home and the things in society that influence it. Satan's using everything at his disposal to influence us.

Bad behavior?

A few lines from Paul Harvey written in 1965.

“If I were the devil … If I were the Prince of Darkness, I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness. And I’d have a third of its real estate, and four-fifths of its population, but I wouldn’t be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree — Thee. So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first — I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.

To the young, I would whisper that ‘The Bible is a myth.’ I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what’s bad is good, and what’s good is ‘square.’ And the old, I would teach to pray, after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…

And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

If I were the devil I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames. If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions — just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography — soon I could evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

If I were the devil I’d take from those who have, and give to those who want until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.

And what do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich? I would caution against extremes and hard work in Patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus, I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were the devil I’d just keep right on doing what he’s doing.”

There’s an unfortunate trend continuing in South Carolina and across the nation that must be stopped: the bad behavior of coaches, parents and fans at high school athletic events.

Not only is this behavior unacceptable and embarrassing, but it’s also having serious consequences on the future of high school sports.

Unfortunately, bad behavior at high school athletic events has become normalized. It is almost expected that coaches, parents and fans will disrespect the individuals serving as officials.

This culture of bad behavior and the negative perception of officials must change now. Everyone involved in high school sports — parents, coaches, administrators, fans, the media — must turn their focus to the student-athletes playing the games and away from the individuals officiating the contests. #BenchBadBehavior campaign

This is just one result of an undisciplined society that's breeding the next generation, the future looks very grim. The term "reap what you sow."
This is how people act when they have nothing to lose. Poverty is the greatest curse on any society and we are seeing it play out in all directions here in the south now that all of our industry is gone. NAFTA brought us all of this and what we have seen is just the beginning; it will get much worse and may never get better. We must become much smarter as a society before there will be any improvement at all.
Still pushing that I see. You're right, people have can't control themselves because of a policy from 1994. You would think in the last 18 years people would have been able to figure something out, but I guess not.
Nope. It goes back 40 more years before NAFTA. Look up the infamous quote from LBJ on his Great Society program and its passage.
So something that happened almost 60 years ago is why people today can't go to a high school football game and act like civilized humans?

I get that people deal with poverty, but at the end of the day there's only 1 person you can blame for the situation you find yourself in, and that's you. There's only 1 person that can change the situation, and that's you.
Very well stated. Like Michael Jackson sang, The Man in the Mirror...
CENTRAL EAGLES...MAKE PLAYS NOT EXCUSES.

Pretty good stuff though I prefer your own words to another's.

Boy, I could have some fun with that Paul Harvey quote. There's some juicy bits I could sink my teeth into. Probably just post some pics instead of my usual barrage of words. Gotta run for now though. Good stuff! We're getting nearer all the time.
