I like this proposal better. Most regions are even sized, odd sized regions are in pairs to ease scheduling open dates during region play.
To make the maps work out:
- James Island is playing up in 5A which bumps Riverside down to 4A.
- Belton-Honea Path is playing up in 4A which bumps Dreher down to 3A.
Those are easily inside the HSL's "50 student" rule, there are no other schools classified out-of-order.
5A - 36 schools - 6 regions - 6,6,6,5,5,8
Student size range: 1635 to 4065, a ratio of 2.49Link to the 5A MapLink to the 5A regions list
4A - 46 schools - 8 regions - 6,6,6,5,5,6,6,6

2A and 1A are the same as my first proposal -
2A - 38 schools, 35 with football - 6 regions - 5,6,6,6,6,6 for football, 8,6,6,6,6,6 for other sports.
Student size range: 408 to 687, a ratio of 1.68Link to the 2A MapLink to the 2A regions list
1A - 45 schools, 36 with football - 8 regions - 4,4,4,6,6,4,4,4 for football, 7,4,5,6,7,4,6,6 for other sports.
Student size range: 24 to 370, a ratio of 15.4
Football size range: 106 to 369, a ratio of 3.49Link to the 1A MapLink to the 1A regions list
