It's not just about playing for 1/2 of a JV game. The way the SCHSL interprets the 8 qtr rule is that it counts IF YOU ARE DRESSED in a uniform. So if JV QB plays 1st half of JV game and then just watches 2nd half on sideline in uniform, SCHSL states that this counts as 4 quarters. Ridiculous, I kno...
