FIRST OF ALL, THERE WOULD BE NO 10 GRAND ONES, MY TRAVELS TOOK ME TO MANY BUT TRUTHFULLY, THEY ALL HAVE HAD PROBLEMS. IF I HAD TO PICK THE ONE THAT THRILLED ME THE MOST WAS SPRING VALLEY. IT CERTAINLY HAD MANY PROBLEMS ESPECIALLY GETTING PARKED AND HIKING IN. I LOVED LANCASTER, AND SUMTER, THE ONES CARVED OUT OF A HILL, BUT SPRING VALLEY BACK THEN WAS THE ONE. TODAY MY FAVORITE WOULD BE RIVER BLUFF, BUT IT HAS PARKING PROBLEMS AND BROOKLYN CAYCE. THE WORST ONES ARE MUCH MORE.

Hey Slick, this is a great post. You have me thinking about all the places that I have been to watching Beaufort play. It has been a lot as I have only missed about 4 Beaufort Football Games in My whole Life (50 years). I have been everywhere from Valdosta, Ga to Greer, SC. I need to sit down and figure out all the places that I have been to. I have really enjoyed following My Beaufort Eagles on their journeys and hope to follow them for many more years.

GO BEAUFORT EAGLES!!!!
Beaufort Head Football Coach Bryce Lybrand is 41-17 after his 5th Season at Beaufort
2022 3A State Football Champions
3 State Titles in Football
I have attended 624 Beaufort Football Games
GO BEAUFORT EAGLES!!!!

I've only been following HS football for 12 years. My count is 32 football venues, 3 more for band competitions. Mostly lower state but a handful in the mid-lands, York and Spartanburg counties.

Favorites --
Crestwood - built into a hillside so you enter the stands from the top, good parking, great concessions.
Sumter - except for the Homers that sit on the visitor side.
Lake City - great atmosphere, very good concessions
Conway - great atmosphere (until recently), very nice facility

Dis-honorable mentions:
Florence Memorial (now sitting unused)
Myrtle Beach - nice facility but the visitor side is too far from the field.

Inadequate parking: Summerville, Dillon, Myrtle Beach

I have been to many venues as well. Some I have enjoyed, some I despised.

My favorites:

North Augusta. Easy parking and just a few steps to get in. Great atmosphere as well.
Harry Perone. (Prior to all of the security) Same as NA. Could park and just a few steps into the stadium seating.
D-3. Best atmosphere for football in the State
Greenwood. Very nice facility and you can just feel all of the history there while watching a game
Summerville. Parking aside, the atmosphere is great, you are close to the field, and the old place reeks of history.

My NOT Favirites:

The old wooden bleacher stadium at Effingham County. Pure crap. Still picking splinters.
Allendale-Fairfax. Paint some lines in a cow pasture and put baseball bleachers on either side.
Moultrie. Still picking sand spurs off my socks.
The Old Reservation. Yes, great atmosphere, but your car was always vandalized and you never knew if you would end up in the hospital.
Burnz. Home side looks ready to collapse, visitor's side smaller than a pee-wee field. And full of homer fans.

I didn't mention the college stadiums like Valdosta because they are not really High School statdiums.
The "Godfather" didn't whine like The "Slobfather" is doing, when he got INDICTED!!!!!

I agree with the old reservation. I had my car broken into there when they played byrnes with willy korn. The atmosphere was crazy though

I think I came up with 55 when you count Old and New and since Rock Hill and Northwestern share, I made sure to only count that one time. I counted another 30-35 schools that I have seen play somewhere other than their home stadium. I think I need to use the fact that I am now retired to take a couple of day trips to see some new stadiums this fall.

AIKEN
BATESBURG LEESVILLE Good BBQ just down the street….
BEAUFORT BEF and Penguin were good hosts
BEREA
BOILING SPRINGS {Great Funnel Cakes!}
CHAPMAN Old and New
CHESNEE
CHESTER
CLINTON
CLOVER Always stop in at Courtney's!
COLLETON COUNTY When it was called Walterboro
CONWAY
DANIEL
DORMAN Both old and new
DUTCH FORK Can be quite a walk from parking to stands
EASLEY The old stadium only
EASTSIDE
GAFFNEY Old and New. Always loved pre-game with my Injun brothers at the old stadium- miss those guys!
GETTYS BROOME
GREENVILLE
GREENWOOD
GREER Old and New
HARTSVILLE
HILLCREST
IRMO Great Home Side, not so great visitors side (but it has been a while)
JAMES F BYRNES We need a TOTAL upgrade!
JL MANN
LANDRUM
LAURENS
LEXINGTON
MAULDIN
MYRTLE BEACH Nice stadium and you are at the beach…
NORTHWESTERN/ROCK HILL
ORANGEBURG WILKINSON
PENDLETON
PICKENS
RICHLAND NORTHEAST
RIVERSIDE
SENECA
SPARTANBURG {Finally, they have their own place, and it's a MUST SEE, really nice place!}
SPRING VALLEY
SUMMERVILLE {Most recently with Mike Dubis with a pregame Perfectly Franks visit}
SUMTER
TL HANNA
UNION COUNTY
WADE HAMPTON (G)
WESTSIDE
WOODMONT Hard to find this place
WOODRUFF
WREN
YORK
.

I woke up this morning, that's a positive!
Right now I am vertical, on top of the grass
and I don't hear harp music! All good things!
