Daniel vs Wren

Post by stretch »

After struggling early last week, we pulled it together and finished with a big win to earn another week of football. This week we will have Wren come to town.

Wren played the toughest schedule of any team in 3A. Their losses this year are to Jefferson (GA), TL Hanna, Byrnes and Hillcrest in non region, then their region loss was to BHP. Those 5 teams have a combined 4 losses so they have been through some tough battles coming into this one. We have a common opponent in Seneca who we both defeated. They won 48-30 in week 2, we won 42-3 in week 9.

Wren has gone from a team that would throw the ball 50+ times a night, to a team that likes to pound the rock with their backs. The QB and starting RB both are over 1,000 rushing yards on the season and they are some tough runners that aren’t easy to bring down. They give up a lot of yards and points on defense against good teams so hopefully we can take advantage of that.

Coach Frate is building something special over at Wren. He'll have a top tier S&C program and his kids will be tough as nails.

Daniel should win this one by two scores, but watch out for Wren over the next several seasons. They'll be a force sooner than later.

Wren and Daniel have a lot of history. Pretty sad they’re not in the same region anymore IMO

35-21 win tonight. Wasn’t pretty and had to battle the elements and refs but we earned another week. We haven’t been playing good at all the last few weeks and if we continue playing like this we will be done next week. I hope things get turned around and I would assume they will be but I thought that going into this game. Who knows what version of this team will show up to play against Chester.
