Can anyone challenge "60 ppg Chapman" in upper state?
Re: Can anyone challenge "60 ppg Chapman" in upper state?
The answer to the original question is probably not if Chapman continues to play the way that they have so far. But, playoff time is a different animal, and there are several teams that you may not want to have to play come November. I see Camden and Chester as capable of winning against Chapman depending on how things go in the early part of the game. One other team from the upstate that I haven't seen anybody talk about, is Onion County. Their record isn't good, but look at their schedule. They have lost to some very good teams. That difficult schedule could very well position them for a deep run come playoff time. The rest of the upper state teams seem to be long shots. If I had to put money on the 3A upper state representative in Columbia this year, it would most definitely be on Chapman.

Chapman beat Camden by 7 last year. A game in which Camden turned the ball over twice in the 4th quarter inside Chapmans 30 yd line. Not to mention Camden is way more explosive of offense this year in comparison to last year.

Chapman might defeat Dorman if the two played. Panthers are no joke. They have some serious players.

Chapman is LOADED on both side of the ball and should be favored to win it all. 3A football seems to have a lot more talented teams from years ago. People seem to have Dillon in the finals but they are a long way from getting there. They will see some very good competition in the playoffs after the first round. Gilbert and May River just to name a couple of teams. The playoffs should be pretty interesting.

I would like to say that I would hate to see Camden, Chester, or Union County either one in a playoff game where the weather is anything accept DRY! The cold rain exposed our biggest weakness last year against Union County even though what ultimately cost us was a fumble inside the 5 yard line with under a minute left and only down 1 if I remember correctly. But give Union credit for causing the fumble and for running all over our defense in their rushing attack. We were a very young team last year and it showed on the defensive side the most. I feel this year's team is far better defensively and much improved in our running game and look forward to playoff time!
