So, am I to understand that YOU propose allowing the virus to run wild as opposed to a measure that would slow down the spread of the virus? So, am I to understand that YOU are willing to allow more people to die just so that businesses can continue to exploit people? So, I am I to understand that YOU are willing to put money ahead of human life?
It is a good thing that seat belts in automobiles are a 100% guarantee of saving a person's life, lest YOU would prefer that they not be used at all.It sure is a good thing that we have a 100% prevention rate with the Mumps vaccine, the Rubella vaccine, the Flu vaccine, the Diphtheria vaccine, in fact, all of our current vaccines, lest you would oppose taking any one of them because any effort that isn't 100%, is useless.

You obviously have not heard the latest from the CDC regarding this disease. That those who contract it, especially those who contract it without symptoms, can, and may, have serious long term lung disease from it. Yes, that means that young children may have life altering complications from this virus without ever knowing that they have had it. And YOU are willing to expose them to it because there is no 100% guarantee that isolating them from it, will eradicate it.
I really do not mean to come off as making this about you personally, I see many others on this website with similar attitudes about this virus. Your post just appeared below mine and I felt it necessary to respond. This virus doesn't care what color your skin is, which, if any, church that you attend, your political affiliation, what High School that you represent, or what teams that you are a fan of. It affects you the same as it affects me. Getting this thing under control has got to happen or there are going to be way too many families burying their loved ones. Maybe it is your family. Maybe it is mine. It need not be either.
your basing this crap on a vaccine that may never come or ever work.why dont we wait in the tooth fairy while we are at it.Penguin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 9:09 am"Short of locking COMPLETELY down until we have a workable vaccine that 100% of the population will take (which we know will NEVER happen) then the virus will not be stopped and can only be slowed down."

absolutely wrong about the thin skin .i enjoy button pushing.Penguin wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 10:44 am"Prisma Health, a major hospital system for Upstate and the Midlands, reports a spike in young adults having to be admitted to the hospital for COVID-19, according to The State.
DHEC recently reported an almost 1,000% increase in people 11 to 20 years old testing positive for the virus and a more than 400% increase for people 21 to 30."
I told you that my posts weren't directed at you, but that your post was the one that appeared below mine and was easiest to respond to. You do have some thin skin apparently. To answer your question(s), the above quote from our State Dept. of Health would appear to be completely in disagreement with your most "expert" recommendations. My position on this is that if it takes the sacrifices of everyone in this State to save just 1 life, then we should be taking those sacrifices as if it were our spouse, our child, or our parents, that were that 1 life.

That makes neither one of them correct, although mine is supported by facts from DHEC. Since I am not near you and your family, please feel free to do as you see fit. Professor Darwin is sitting back eating popcorn while watching the show.
