To give you an idea of what the bracket COULD look like...

Based on the information provided and what I've been able to figure out about the bracket for 5A Division One. It is important to understand, I have no idea what the MAXPREPS RPI RANKING will look like, and they have some other rules about seeding that I am still trying to understand, but the layout of the bracket will be similar to the new NCAA playoff bracket.

Thanks for trying to make some sense out of it. You’d think this new format was being protected by the secret service. The SCHSL is clueless! I’m just going to enjoy the season and find out right before the playoffs I guess. The only way I could enjoy it more is if you’d share the beef jerky.

This playoff scene will be interesting and hard to predict. Since none of the rankings separate D1 and D2 in 5A. Would someone be so kind to post the teams who are in each division? Not a link, I have seen the lists, but that was a long time ago. It be awesome to see it at the top of the page.

Upstate is loaded with good teams. Lower state not so much. Figure upstate should come down to Northwestern and Gaffney, with the winner easily beating whomever comes out of lower state. But we will see

Dutch Fork has basically been given the upstate in Div 1
Main challengers are Spartanburg Mann and boiling springs
They’ve already beaten Spartanburg
Mann may have something for them but their qb play is not as good as last year. They are deeper.
BS might be the biggest threat because of the qb position but who’s trusting them in a big game especially against TK
