had to go up and mark my only son's grave off, I am dreading Saturday when he goes in the cold ground forever. know there are some on here, that's had to do that more than once.

You are very welcome slick. I'm and sorry you have to go through this. If your family needs anything else don't hesitate to let me know. Prayers brother.

Mr. Slick just remember, that's not your son going into the ground that's just the vehicle that his soul used to move about on earth. He is rejoicing and celebrating where there is no such thing as cold ground. Continued prayers for you and your family.CITYSLICKER wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 9:46 pmhad to go up and mark my only son's grave off, I am dreading Saturday when he goes in the cold ground forever. know there are some on here, that's had to do that more than once.
Do not weep for me for I have not gone.
I am the wind that shakes the mighty Oak.
I am the gentle rain that falls upon your face.
I am the spring flower that pushes through the dark earth.
I am the chuckling laughter of the mountain stream. Do not weep for me for I have not gone.
I am the memory that dwells in the heart of those that knew me.
I am the shadow that dances on the edge of your vision.
I am the wild goose that flies south at Autumns call and I shall return at Summer rising.
I am the stag on the wild hills way.
I am just around the corner. Therefore, the wise weep not.
But rejoice at the transformation of my Being.

Slick, from personal experience, I know that folks will try to say things to help but I also know that you have to do it your way. And don't let anyone tell you that you should be doing this or you should not be doing that. Do what is best for you and work through things in a way that you want, not what someone else says you need to do. Just know that you don't have to do it alone. Sometimes you may want to be just left alone, but it's also a road that is best travelled with companions!
When my wife died after all those years of suffering, I heard two things that were folks trying to be "nice" and "comforting" but they were just telling lies.
1. I'm sure that knowing it was coming has helped you!
2. Time heals all wounds!
For #1, knowing doesn't help at all, it just makes it last longer.
for #2, Rose Kennedy said it much better than I could... so try to focus on all the good stuff!
